WESTERN ASIATIC OLD BABYLONIAN CUNEIFORM TABLET DOCUMENTING SILVER AND NAMED MEN 21st-17th century BC

A baked clay rectangular tablet with lines of cuneiform inscription to both sides and top edge; accompanied by an original old scholarly note, hand written and unsigned by W.G. Lambert, late Professor of Assyriology, University of Birmingham, 1970-1993, which states: 'Administrative / document about silver / and named men. / Old Babylonian, / c. 2000 - 1600 BC.' 149 grams, 75mm (3").

Condition Very fine condition.

Provenance Property of a London gentleman; part of his family collection since the 1970s; accompanied by an original hand written note by Professor W.G. Lambert.
